Cara Babachicos earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College in the School of Management. She received her Master of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
Cara has twenty-five years experience working in healthcare information systems with a career that spans across acute care, non-acute, for profit-vendors and consulting. She especially values the importance of the healthcare continuum and the services that can be provided in the home and/or other setting most suitable for the patient, as we are all aging and some day hopefully we can be recipients of great customer-focused care models.
Cara Babachicos is presently the CIO and Corporate Director of Information Systems for the Community Hospitals and Non-Acute sites at Partners Healthcare. In her current role she manages 4 site CIOs with total responsibility for 10 facilities with yearly operating revenue in excess of $50M and over 1,500 inpatient beds. Prior to her current role Cara was the VP and CIO of Partners Continuing Care which included responsibility for oversight and strategy for Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Network and Partners Healthcare at Home.
Cara is on the CHIME Board of Directors. She is also on the faculty of CHIME and teaches at the CIO Boot Camp. Cara teaches at Northeastern University in the masters program for Healthcare Informatics, and she is on the faculty at Harvard School of Public Health where she teaches a course in executive project management.
