Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program provides integrated, multidisciplinary care for people with breathing difficulties. Our program is overseen by physicians specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, or physical medicine and rehabilitation.
We provide you with access to acute-care medical specialists, diagnostic tests, and therapy for strengthening and endurance, as well as education on pacing techniques and self-management of your symptoms.
Our specialized nursing care for anyone requiring medical management services including telemetry monitoring, suctioning, high oxygen needs, IV therapy, and complex wound management. Our facilities also provide fully equipped therapy gyms with state-of-the-art equipment and adaptive sports to allow you to regain strength.
Throughout the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, we treat the whole person. If you have lung disease, we not only help you achieve the highest possible level of function and independence, but we also help you and your loved ones find the strength you need to go about your daily lives with confidence.
Approach to Care
Our pulmonary program offers progressively intensive therapy, according to your tolerance and physical abilities. The process can be a difficult one, but our clinicians bring both expertise and compassion to their work, providing encouragement at every turn.
Family members are an essential part of the process too. We provide extensive education and support to help ensure that you and your family have the resources and knowledge you need both during your stay and after you’ve returned home.
Expertise
Our physician-led rehabilitation teams may include rehabilitation nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, rehabilitation aides, psychologists, social workers, and case managers. Working together, they provide customized care based on your condition and needs, including psychological needs.
Living with chronic respiratory disease can be emotionally challenging for you and your family. Our trained clinicians can help.
