Work Injury Rehabilitation Programs at Spaulding Rehabilitation Network Outpatient Centers are structured and goal-oriented programs designed to help you identify work capacities, regain functional skills, and return to work after an injury. A leader in rehabilitative care, the Spaulding Network provides evaluations to identify and reduce the risks of new and repeat injuries in the workplace.

Approach to Care

Our comprehensive rehabilitation program at the Spaulding Network uses an interdisciplinary approach to help you return to work safely. The goals of a work hardening/ work conditioning program are to help you develop a physical tolerance for work, regain flexibility, mobility, strength and endurance, learn safe work techniques, assess tools or job modifications for a safe return to work, explore career options and understand your injury and how to manage pain.

Each program is tailored to your job task. With the help of Spaulding’s therapists, you first begin an exercise program to regain strength, endurance, range of motion, core stabilization and cardiovascular conditioning then focuses on the specific functional job tasks required.

You participate in an intensive program that includes tool use, lifting, gross and fine motor activities, ladder climbing and a large variety of work simulations utilizing a work simulator. Each program is individually tailored to your job task.

Spaulding therapists work closely with your primary care physician, having direct communication as needed regarding work precautions and your ability to progress towards specific job tasks.

Spaulding Rehabilitation Network is dedicated to providing new treatments in the field of Work Injury Rehabilitation, including:
