Amputee
Monica
During a C-section, Monica contracted necrotizing fasciitis ("flesh-eating bacteria"). All four of her limbs had to be amputated in order to save her life. Just four months later, she walked out of the hospital and returned to her family. She was featured on "Oprah" as a "Warrior Mom." (More about Monica)

Jason
While on stage playing in front of a sold out club, musician Jason Crigler suffered a major stroke as a result of an Arterio-Venous Malformation (AVM). The AVM so severe that it left Jason in a vegetative state. Following rehabilitation at Spaulding, Jason reclaimed his life, recorded an album about his experiences, and is the focus of a documentary.

Donald
Donald was competing in a high school wrestling tournament when he dislocated his vertebrae, immediately paralyzing him on impact. Following rehabilitation in Spaulding's SCI Program, Donald was back in the competition within months of the accident.
